As they always say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Personally, I love to eat breakfast foods at any time of the day, but it really is good to eat something first thing. I’m an egg girl at heart, but this post is all about oatmeal. Oatmeal is an absolutely wonderful choice for breakfast in so many ways. It’s healthy, filling, full of nutrients, tastes good, and really is very easy to make.
While complex foods certainly taste delicious, we all know that there is truly a time and place for them. For most of us, quick and easy meals will be much more necessary.
1/2 cup of Quaker 1 minute-to- cook oats
1 cup of water
Brown sugar (to taste)
Skim milk (to taste)
I use Quaker brand for my oatmeal. All you need is a pot, some water, some oats, and preferably some type of sweetening agent. The thing to remember about oatmeal is that you use one part oatmeal, two parts water. For example, a serving size is approximately 1/2 cup, so you would use 1 cup of water.
First, I set the cup of water to a boil, then I poured the oats in to cook. I get the oats that are supposed to cook in one minute, but I let them cook on low heat for 3-5 minutes to get the desired texture.
Then, I serve with some milk, brown sugar, and occasionally a piece of fruit (usually a banana). This tastes absolutely delicious and is a great way to start your day!
